The Ride

I've found that relationships are a lot like rollercoasters.

You wait in line for what seems like forever just for the chance to catch a ride. Then before you know it, you're being propelled full throttle along this long, winding track...hanging on for dear life as you take the highs and lows...the twists and turns...the fear and excitement.

Sometimes you even feel a little sick.

But when that car finally comes to a grinding halt and the chaos around you dies down...the real question is...in the end, was it really worth the ride?

The hopeful part of me wants to think so.

If you're lucky enough to have found that 'one' person...you'll endure most anything.

It's just that I'm not sure if I'm gripping the rail...or someone's hand.

Sometimes it is. I guess it depends on the ride...

oh but you forget, there's always cotton candy that you can look forward to after the ride.

Linny, one day you are going to make someone very grateful that your path crossed theirs.

Lindsey... I second Tree's comment and have a cheesy song for you to check out...

When you asked if the ride was worth it, it reminded me of that cheesy Garth Brook's song "The Dance". Look up the words, I promise they will mean something to you.

Big Hugs,
Kelly

If you take a look beside you, you'll see that I'm there right along side of you.

The ride is worth everything you put into it. As life unfolds you don't ever want to ask yourself the "what if" questions. At least you'll know the answer.

and uh... Lindsey??
could you ease up on my hand please?? My fingers are blue.

But the roller coaster is more fun than the merry-go-round.

Linny.... I agee...it can seem like a ride! 30 yrs. later, you can STILL question if it was worth it! Advise...Do your homework...before you pay good money to get on a ride that might not be worth it. Better yet... spend his money on the ride and make it worth it! LOL

I think it depends on the ride. Some of them are lame, with no crazy loops or turns. Who really wants that?
And then some are just too insane, with death-defying drops and stomach-churning turns. And when it's so up and down that it's no longer fun, who really wants that???
I guess the trick is just riding the roller coasters until you find the ride that's loopy enough to be fun without being so scary that you don't want to ride.

I don't think there is ONE person. I think people could be with loads of people. I think hanging on for that one might work against it happening, as does constantly worrying about it. I think it most often happens when you relax, become happy with you and your life without a man, and exude that glow of tranquility and happiness.

But that's my take.
