His Jaw...My Fist

I knew today was going to be a bad day. I really should have just stayed in bed.

I woke up foggy headed and tired and the entire left side of my face was swollen and throbbing with intense pain.

I went back to the Oral Surgeon only to discover that despite my best efforts...a nasty little infection had made a home in my jaw.

*Warning---Gross Out Alert!*

It was bad enough that I could feel the drainage coming out when he irrigated the incision sight...but then something even worse happened. It's so horrible that I'm not even sure I can say it.

Let me just take a moment to gather my thoughts.........

Okay... allow me to preface this by saying that anyone who has had an infected wound or anything knows how inflamed and tender the area is. Well, apparently everyone BUT my doctor. Dr. Evil proceeded to stick his hand in my mouth and squeeze the infected area...HARD. He did this not once, but twice (apparently to squeeze out whatever gunk was left.) It was so painful that I lifted myself out of the chair and yelped. I could see his technician standing in the corner with her hand over her mouth, cringing.

He is quite fortunate to have escaped with his life. I very nearly clocked his ass.

All seems to be doing well now but I think I'll crawl back into bed just to be on the safe side.

ahahaahahaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh. Oh, fuck. Ouch. I feel for you. I had one wisdom tooth pulled, and I devoloped dry socket. Any sort of pain in your mouth is terrible, b/c it vibrates throughout the rest of your head. *gross out disclaimer* I explained the pain to my brother by saying 'i'd rather have babies out my asshole than that EVER again' Hope you feel better soon. Just say vicodin :)

Yeah, that happens often. It happened to me and my cheek was pretty swollen for a few days before I realized somethign was wrong. So I get an appointment in town and they say I have to wait for three days to get an appointment. The next morning my jaw hurt a lot and I looked in the mirror and opened wide...and gunk started leaking out of one of my sockets. So I sat there rinsing and brushing and squeezing it all out myself. It hurt, but in the way that made me know it was getting better. It was really nasty and my roommate took off quick.

The same thing happend to me when I got my wisdom teeth out. It hurt so bad and when I went back they numbed my mouth but before it was completely numb, the guy sticks a needle in my mouth and hit a nerve. I told him that if he did it again that I would sock him. So apparently they hear that alot.

Oh Linny...I'm so sorry. He really should have been more consderate of your pain. That is what he's there for!!

I'm very glad that you went back though. That's a very dangerous infection.
I think I'd go find a new dentist.
And when you're feeling better - go chew that one out so he doesn't do it again!!
((((((((((((((Linny))))))))))))
Get better hon.

I had to have an absessed molar removed a few years ago. The novocaine the dentist gave me wasn't working... and it hurt like you wouldn't believe. Worse then that, the fucker didn't believe me when I kept telling him how bad it hurt, and how the novocain wasn't working. At one point I was in so much pain that I was making a lot of noise... yelling out as he pulled.

The bastard had the nerve to tell me to please be quiet because there were other patients there as he tried to yank the tooth. Let's just say I cancelled all appointments with him after that. The guy wouldn't even talk to me over the phone when he found out I was stopping seeing him... didn't have the balls to even pick up the phone.

I reported him to the state dental board.
