Drink Ho

Apparently they do exist. My friends and I were at a bar recently and one of the guys noticed a cute girl a few seats down from us. He caught her eye and smiled and she smiled back. Ever so often he would look over again and she'd keep smiling at him, acting coy...definetly giving him the green light. (I was watching this with great amusement by the way...I'd never been on the boy's end before.) So he tells the bartender to get her another drink and put it on HIS tab. The bartender obliges and gives the girl another Cranberry and Kettle One. Now here's the tricky part. She then accepts the drink, smiles...and when he starts to walk over...she walks away, disappearing into the crowd. Making him feel like an ass in front of his friends.

Now, I think there is a sort of unspoken rule about this thing but you can tell me if I'm wrong. I feel that if you're smiling and acting flirty to a guy and he drops $7 on a drink for you and you ACCEPT it...then you are obligated to give him at least 5 minutes of your time. Even if you keep it as short as giving a brief introduction and then thanking him for the drink and say you have to meet your friends. Is that asking too much? But to just walk off without a backwards glance...it's cold and it makes you a Drink Ho.

I'm with you on this one. Eye contact, smiles and the acceptance of the drink deserve giving the guy a chance to say hello. Definately a low-class ho.

Jeeze! What a, a, well... I'm not going to say it.

I've met HER a few times before in different establishments.

Now, my rule is this: I'm not buying ANYTHING unles conversation is started first. Eye contact, the green light... THEN I walk over and start to chat. THEN the offer of a drink...

Wow - this is a whole new part of society for me. Never have I heard of a drink ho...will have to do more research on that. I recently learned about "lip sluts" - one of my friends has a friend that kisses random guys all the time. Thus the nickname. There's evidently a whole world out there that I'm unaware of...

The guy is a dope for getting suckered like that. It's all part of the game. You win some and you lose some. No big deal.

Thanks for the kind words you left on my blog(was very nice to see). With regards to the "drink Ho", I would like to think that if i was a woman i wouldn't use it to get free drink (but i am not so can't say) but i see it all the time. Equality my arse. If you let a stranger buy you a drink you at least give them the time of day and if not, don't let them buy you a drink, simple.

i did something similar to your friend once, but some how i managed to pull it off. it was new years and i had seen this girl looking at me various times during the night. i'd spotted what she was drinking so when i next went to the bar to get a round, i added in one for her and while the barman was getting the other drinks i took it over, smiled and walked off...RAOK style...later in the night, i think it was actually the morning by this point, she found me and "thanked" me for the drink with a bit of a boogie, a chat and a quick cheeky snog...so she wasn't a drink ho... i feel sorry for the fella, drink ho's are nasty, but i've usually got my radar tuned in and spot them a mile off :o)

Such the drink ho is she!
But what if she got really nervous and had just peed herself or something?
Not everyone can talk to guys casually.

hahahahahaha...I laughed and laughed at your subject line...

yeah, it's more of a gesture to be kind to introduce yourself and say thank you for the drink...but maybe she's just one of those individuals who are either 1) exceptionally bitchy or 2) have no grasp of social rules..

If I ever own a bar I'd put pictures of drink hos on the walls with a warning sign. Kinda like the bad check writers posted on some stores, I guess.

I don't want to be rude to your friend, but why buy a woman he's never talked to a drink? Because she flirted with him for a few minutes?

Ok, I have bought drinks to women as well, without ever talking to them. But that's been on my in initiative. Bought her a drink, made sure she knew it was from me then i left the bar. Ignoring her after that.
