Rebellion
For over 2 years I have poured my heart and soul into this blog.
I have shared my happiest moments and the moments I was at an absolute low.
This Spinster Diary has been my 'safe place.' A place where I knew I could be 100% honest about what I was feeling and not fear judgment or persecution. However, over the past year...that little wall of security has been been under attack by an adversary that has many faces. From my spot behind the wall...I can see the crack in the foundation steadily growing larger, leaving me more guarded which is something I'm sure you all have noticed.
So now, I'm left to strategize a plan of counterattack.
Do I sound a retreat...bringing this blog to an end?
Do I throw up an even bigger wall and only allow invited readers ? (Which unfortunately doesn't allow me new readers.)
Or do I let them fight their way through the wall only to come face to face with my bare bum like William Wallace in "Braveheart?"

Being one of the newer readers, I'm not completely in the loop here yet. But I've been around long enough to see this sort of thing happening way too often. I think you have alot of support from your friends. If you can stand up to the adversity, then you'll have all of us to help you through it too!
Fighting naked was done to show lack of fear to the enemy (literally that you hung low). hahaha
That said, if you can get the same feeling by showing your bum. Bring it.
This blog should be about you. Do what you need to do in order to make it your safe haven again.

I know I haven't been around too much lately but I am completely confused. I need to read some archives I think.
That's a tough call as you've always been so candid and I admire you for that. Obviously no blog is out of the question....show us your bum!!

But truly Lindsey you've got to do what you think is best to keep safe, or to rest your mind at ease. Nothing I've seen here would be shocking to too many folks though. It's a matter of calibration. But rebellion never went well with calibration, right? I've always enjoyed your writing too.

Whatever you decide, make sure it's right for YOU, regardless of the effect it has on othres. But, having said that, it'd be a shame to see you go.
Linny, you could always move your entire blog to a new url, and I'm glad it's not a case of someone saying something mean or overstepping a mark, which unfortunately can occur in blogland as well as in life. I say flash 'em, may as well go all the way. :-)
If you only want certain people reading your blog, get their email addresses and then set it to private and only the people with those email addresses can read your page. You might not get as many people looking at it, but you would be able control who sees it.
My blog is private but it's because I wanted it to be (mainly I didn't want my ex finding it like he did before)
Isn't it funny how you can say more on your blog than you can to friends or family. A lot of my family read my blog, none of them comment, of course. I joined vox and you can change the settings for each individual post. You only, friends only, friends and family, family only etc. It's a pity we can't do that on blogger yet.
It is your place do with it what you want to/need to.

Well, I think I've been with you since the beginning...read the first post that you ever wrote and got hooked immediately :) So I would, of course, hate to see this blog come to an end!!!

I think for the moment I'm going to let things go and continue blogging. If I have anymore problems then i may consider changing my blog status to 'private' but of course all of you would be invited!
No no, dont become exclusive. I think so many people like your writing. You shouldnt cherry pick the fans.
Lindsey, It would be difficult to put censors up at Spinster War Diaries, which is truly your own unique place. I hope you don't have to, but I understand the weirdness of having individuals (my boss or co-workers for example) looking at my personal life... I've enjoyed reading your stories, reviews, anecdotes, and the whole kit & kaboodle here very much.
I vote for the bare bum.
Hang it all out there for all to see. Take pictures so we can see too.
