UK Here I Come!
I can't stop smiling!
Ask me why....
Cause I'm going to England baby! It's official...dates have been set, flights reserved. In two months Cathy and I will be crossing the pond...and with any luck, managing a stay in Ireland too. We've been having dreams about Irish men.
So I'm in dire need of an itinerary.
This is where you come in.
Where should we go...what should we do...?
P.S. We're flying into Manchester if that helps.

Go. To. Ireland.
Please! Go to Cork and Waterford and the Dingle Penninsula! I have such wonderful memories of those places from when I went with Spider.
I'm SO envious!!
Oh, and in England, Bath is a wonderful little city.
Well I suppose that who you talk to depends on where you are going in England. PX lives somewhere around there, and Miss Ash has been...i'm sure both of them will have some suggestions.
Ugh, I wanna go.
Never been to England, except for scrambling around at Heathrow Airport enroute to Albania so no suggestions there. But Ireland - how fun. Be sure check out the quaint little town of Wexford, with its winding cobbled streets which get narrower and narrower until you think they might just end completely... and Waterford, especially if you like seeing the master glassblowers create their fabulous glass treasures. They also have beautiful Wedgewood pieces in the showroom there. Be sure to look to the RIGHT when you step off the curb... the cars nail you from the wrong direction!
How long are you going for?
There are a million things to do and see, these could give you an idea:

also each major city will have such a website, i.e.

On the road with the Code!
Hi!!! Have a good and safe trip. Blog all about it!!
England is beautiful... surprise yourself... I love England!
JD ;)
I can't help you much ... my itinerary would be entirely built around playing those old golf courses ... LOL
I could help you with Tokyo though....Just ENJOY yourself!!
well i'm glad you are able to go. have fun and don't for4 get to think about me!lol j/k
I would have no idea what to see first.
But I am super jealous that you get to go. Your gonna have soooo much fun.
Whatever you do, don't kiss the Blarney Stone for good luck. The locals urinate on it when no tourists are around. There's your charming Irish men for you. BTW, I have a tattoo of a shamrock. How's that for Irish?
LOL. Hmmm Phil. Is that an offer?
It's whatever you want it to be!
Well in that case....bount chica bount bount.
Look out Phil!
I guess I do have the luck of the Irish.
Hi Linny me girl,
I hope you have a safe, happy trip to England! Have lots of fun, and best of luck!!
Sleep with an Irish man for me.
Call him Frank McCourt, no matter what his name is! ;)
And just think, Linny me girl, what a trip like this will do for your writing! You'll come back all full of romantic daydreams, and stories to tell. Prose it up, Linny me girl! May the words find you as you find the world.
...
Happy June.
Love,
~ Ash
Bring an umbrella.....it rained the entire time i was in England.
London has great shopping, check out Top Shop, it's this great store with the cutest clothes. My cousins took us around so i'm not even sure where the heck we went, but it was good times!!
OH, I'm SO JEALOUS!!!!! I want to not only go to England and Ireland, but I'd love to tour the Scottish countryside. HOnestly? I just want to visit real-deal pubs and drink good beer. And I love Celtic music. Are you going to London?
LUCKY!
Linny, you are flying onto my Home truff... email me and I'll give you a note or two. :-)
Awesome.
And should give you plenty of blogging fodder upon your return.
I am jealously excited for you.
august/september time should be ok weather wise, although an umbrella is advised (buy one rather than bring one)
if you're in manchester you really should go and see old trafford and possibly even take in a game(soccer stadium), but never having spent much time up in manc there's not a lot i can suggest.
i recommend London, for obvious reasons, as there's something for everyone there
and obviously Oxford because i live (near) there and it's got the universities and the history and stuff like that
shopping wise, london (again obviously) and manc are both good, as is leeds (not far from manc)
there are loads of touristy things you can do too, but seeing as i'm not a tourist in my own country i can't tell you what to see/do
I think wherever u choose to go ull have a great time!!
I WANNA GO!!!!
Linny, you do know I'm part Irish, right?
For the English Riviera, head down to Devon. Torquay and Paignton used to be interesting tourist towns. And you get to see red sand! How many beaches have red sand? How many English beaches have sand at all? Not many. I know, I lived there for three years as a preteen.
And go to lots of castles and climb the towers. It's great fun.
Oops, forgot to ask.. when are you going?
LOL. BlackCrag...I had forgotten about your Irish heritage, we may have to talk lol.
We are leaving August 25th. Which city are we most likely to find castles b/c that's one of the top things on my list?
I am a puddle of envy. I will live vicariously through you. :)
What a wonderful thing to look forward to! You'll have plenty to write about then.
Maybe...you'll find that perfect man. Maybe you've just been on the wrong continent all along. LOL
I just got back from Ireland. It is a beautiful country. You'll love it! (The Irish lass' accents rock as well)
London was a cool place, too. It depends if you want sites or scenery.
If you're going to Manchester you will be only about 90 min drive from where I live :D
Hmm...if you like the country side - don't miss it. It's beautiful around here and the Peak District is stunning if you're in for views. Steap mountains and lots of green.
I'm in Derbyshire, just south of the Peak District, which is more rolling green hills than anything.
There's plenty of old castles in this area...if that would be of any use? :) Hmmm...if you asked a couple of years ago I probably wouldn't have been so "home" around here as I am today. You get blind when you have it so close, ya know.
The only "attraction" that we have around these parts would be the crooked spire in Chesterfield. There's legends around that spire, but the truth is that it's a design fault. It looks kinda neat though.
In any case, I hope you'll have a good time :D
PS. Be careful with eggs around here. They don't keep them refridgerated in the stores and you don't want to catch Salmonella ;) Same goes for shrimps. Just so you know.
Awesome! That should be great! You will have to tell us all the low down.
Really amazing! Useful information. All the best.
