Quiet

I know I've been quiet lately.

It's been a bad week.

I lost one of my soldiers Monday. He was only 21.

Matthew was a soldier in Eric's Company and in this week alone, they have lost a total of 5 soldiers. I cannot tell you how terrified I am of something happening to Eric. I was never much of a religous person before...but now...I pray every single day. "Just bring them home safe...please."

The only thing that gets me through is hearing him say, "I know I'm going to be ok...because I have you to come home to."

I'm so sorry Lindsey. Just know that there are 1000's of folks out there who feel exactly the same way, and want them all home as soon as practically possible. We pray every night for all of them to come back home safe & whole. Cheers & Good Luck, 'VJ'

Such things are always far away from mind, but your post hits it home and puts an identifiable face to them out there.
Hope they can get home soon.

I have nothing witty to say. This is neither the time nor the place. BIG HUG.

The only 'advice' I have is

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;

I'm sorry to here about all the losses. Someone I knew from Highschool was really badly injured and has been sent home and I hope all is well with him. Anyway, my friend Danielle, her husband is in the Army and he is about to have his 3rd service over in Iraq. I don't know how she does it.

Oh Lin. How very awful. Hold onto that hope, hon. Hold on for dear life. There are many of us praying right along with you. Surely we must be heard.

A shoulder and a hug for you dear.

Soon enough Lindsey, We will all be back home. Keep in mind that if we don't do it though someone else will have to step in our place and stand guard. We'll all be home soon, only thing is, we train during our time off to come back out and take our posts back.

I know where you are coming from. I have family, friends, and coworkers overseas. It's on a daily basis that I know of what's going on over there. I work for our Department of National Defence in support of Soldier Survivability, so I buy supplies to send over to our boys and girls. It's very quiet in the office, and busy - so that we can bring them all home safely.
