Like A Boyscout...Always Prepared

Being a single woman, I can pretty much wear whatever I want to bed and not give it a second thought. This generally means boxers and a t-shirt most of the time. Also, since it is the winter season I have the option of not shaving every single day like I do in the summer. (Come on ladies, we all do it...don't leave me out here alone on this one...and boys, don't frown. When I have a boyfriend I make sure I stay smooth at all times...well, most of the time.)

There is one exception to this normal bedtime attire of mine...and it depends on the weather. I have this irrational fear that something is going to happen during a terrible thunderstorm or tornado watch where I'm going to be forced from my apartment in the middle of the night. In the event of that happening, whenever there is a REALLY bad storm, I always dress in whatever I want to be seen in if I have to rush out. Now, I don't go to sleep in my jeans or anything crazy like that...but I do make sure I'm wearing my 'nicer' pajama pants and a nice shirt and socks...just in case.

I've also been known to do this if I'm really sick to the point where I think someone may have to take me to the hospital. Only on these occassions, I make sure that I take a shower and shave because I don't want to the hospital staff to have to see my hairy legs. The irrational part of me imagines the doctors and nurses whispering behind their hands to one another about my lack of shaving. In the back of my mind I can hear them cracking jokes about hoping that I listened to my mother about wearing clean underwear...

I'm sick...I know.

Ok... I admit it too... in the winter, I don't shave every day. Throw on a pair of jeans and no one will know the difference! I know... it's sad. But when I'm in a hurry, shaving's the first thing to go.

As for pajamas... I'm a like you, usually a tshirt and boxers or pajama pants. But I am not so paranoid as to be worried about getting caught in my pajamas. I figure, if there is a natural disaster during the night, then EVERYONE will be in their pajamas.

And as for going to the hospital... well, I was once in an accident that put me in the hospital for 3 weeks, and during that time I didn't shower or anything. (makes me wonder how the nurses stood it!) By the time I got out of the hospital, my armpits were... terrifying. So I have decided not to be afraid of doctors, nurses, and body hair!

I had the same fear about that. But the fear has subsided now. I'm not as fearful of it anymore.

Not to worry Linny - the Dr.s and Nurses don't even notice nubs or underwear (they just cut it off!). The boyfriend, on the other hand DOES notice. My hippy told me (after being accidently "raked" by one of my legs) "if you just let it grow out it will be soft." Sorry, but that will never happen! Some things just aren't possible - long leg hair is one of those things - bleah!

Oh god linny....you're TOO funny.
You wear SOCKS to bed???? I hate wearing socks to bed. And if you can imagine, I had a cast on my leg for 2 months when I had surgery a couple of years ago...you should have seen how hairy my LEG was then...ugh....

PP...I hate wearing socks to bed too. I ONLY wear them when the weather is super bad...you know, I don't want to have to run outside barefoot.

and for the not shaving thing..
i dont shave but like once a week if that in the winter. i dont wear anything but pants and boots so i dont have to worry about people seeing my legs. chris does not care if i do or not. he gives me a hard time sometimes. but other then that i dont give a shit...if chris or anyone does not like it they can get over it...

OMG, sooooo me too. I don't sleep naked (by myself) for that EXACT reason. What if the house is on fire, and I don't have enough time to get clothes on. OMG, I would die if my neighbors saw me nekked. yikes!

lol, nice robe at the end of my bed too,
though I did run outside in my underwear once to catch my alsatian who'd raced out of the house and was scaring some poor old lady with a poodle. (lived on the main road too - red cheeks that day, all of them lol)

I've never even considered that, Linny. Now another thing to think about that's gonna be cluttering up my crowded brain... along with lining up the M&M's.

Funny stuff. Good PJ's... hairy legs... socks in case of fire or storms... LOL

ok now i know a few people who work in hospitals and that...and they do talk about these things! they do whisper and joke around when they see odd things, but all in decent taste i must add!
i've never really been prepared for anything though so it doesn't bother me
besides, i'm a bloke, i'm supposed to have hairy legs!

Hey Linny, you are better than I am. There was once I wore my winter coat to bed, plus woollen socks coz the "nice" people at the hotel shut off the heater in the middle of a wintery nite!

I have that same fear!!
It would be the worst to know nurses were talking about you. Then they would go home and say to their roommate/significant other, "oh my god, this girl came into with the hairest legs, she was sick" and they would have a good laugh.

Oh shit - now that you've got me thinking about this, I'll probably be worried also. Last night, for instance, if somebody had to take me to the hospital, they would have seen my feet sans pedicure, my unshaven legs, and my "I heart Brad" shirt. My mom would not be happy about this :)

I can't stand to wear socks to bed! But like you I have the exact same fear, and tidy up my PJ's a bit! LOL Shaving is always the last thing on my mind when I'm going to be wearing any type of pants. Whose going to see it anyway!

I am never that prepared when I am sick! Its a good day when I remember to put my hair back so I dont throw up in it.

That is the nice thing about earthquakes in CA. You have no warning when they are coming so everyone who has to leave their home looks bad :)

My wife works as a nurse at an urgent care, she said one gal had hairy breasts, long brown hairs protruding around the diameter of her nipples. Is this normal?

Great post, At night I wear my pj's around the house but once its time for bed, I am sans pants. I do leave them by the bed so when I get up in the morning, I have easy access. I dont shave everyday in the winter either. What I do is I wear mens socks and pull them up as far as they can and in the event of an e.r visit, as long as they dont take them off, they wont see the fur on my legs ;)

Too funny!! I haven't given this stuff much thought but it's really icy outside now. I better change my undergarments into some nice lacy ones just in case I'm in an accident. LOL!

You are TOO cute.
You wanna talk about not shaving?!? I think for me it's been about a month (granted I can't bend over) ;) and I only shaved today b/c I had an OB/GYN appt and I didn't know if there would be any sort of pants removal goin' on.
My mom has the same paranoia as you. Every time I would leave the house in PJs (which was often in high school) she used to have a fit and say "what if you got in a car accident - think of how foolish you'd feel!". It never convinced me to change. :)

My mom used to tell us to wear clean underware too. Also no holes in the underware. That would do it, I just know it would.

I only shave weekly if not longer in the winter- unless it happens to be a manditory sex day. Such as, holidays, parties, bdays, or anniversery's. I love it that you you think like that :) Ha. With my paranoid nature, I'm surprised that I don't.

You know... while smooth legs are very sexy... I sometimes don't mind the odd stubbly leg.. the tiny bit of friction can be a little erotic... yeah, yeeah, I know... I'm a pervert. :-)

I can't wear anything... I worry too much about mid-sleep scrunching and the pain... oh dear lord... the pain. I also quite like the whole freedom of it all he he... I share too much!

Isn't that like our mothers telling us to always wear clean underwear, just in case we're ever in an accident?
Well, I've rotated many a times in an emergency room and never once looked at someone's underwear.

Last night was our first really cold night here in central Oklahoma. I woke up worrying about whether the antifreeze would actually keep the engine of the car from freezing & whether the water pipes in the house would freeze. I giggled when I thought, at 3:30am, at least I have on cute PJ's (I immediately thought of this post). I'm not sure what that had to do with anything I was worrying about, but for some reason it helped me sleep. LOL
