Do You Like Me?
Check
Yes or No
There has been some news people!!!! It appears that our boy Joshua is just painfully shy. They spent an entire week together and NEVER did he once mention their 'talk' nor did he respond to her flirting. However, after they returned home today he called and asked her if she'd received his e-mail. She had not. (Apparently he had hit 'save' instead of 'send'.) He won't tell her exactly what it says...only that it was an answer to her question...and there was a song in it. He was still too shy to talk about it on the phone...all he said was that he was too nervous to bring it up on the trip and his friend kept calling him to ask if "he had talked to her." And the friend also told him, "Invite her to the Christmas party. You ARE allowed to bring a date you know!" That's as much as he would say...he said she'd have to wait until he resent the e-mail. But all of this, on top of the fact that he took her to cut down a Christmas tree AND he helped her set it up...means....he loves her!!!! Or at least likes her a lot.

I called it. Fear! Though this boy is taking it to extremes when he knows she feels the same way. How can you be afriad of rejection when you know she won't reject you?

Good for your friend.

Because men are not supposed to be shy and grasp the thorn... there's even more pressure to be assertive and then if you're shy by nature, that pressure makes you even more shy. No-one likes rejection... some people will only make a move when they 100% know they can't fail. Shyness and lack of confidence can be a real serious affliction. Not that I'm talking from experience or anything like that at all... erm...

Thanks for all the advice guys! Lord help us if we have to resort to these sorts of high school tactics just to get on the same page. I can't believe he's this shy! Being his friend, I'd never have guessed it. He's coming by today so cross your fingers we get over the awkwardness quickly :).
thanks again,
Cathy

Oh that is TOO CUTE! When I read your previous post I almost commented about how glad I was to not have to deal with that stuff anymore... but now I am totally giddy with excitement for her. Too cute! I'm working my way current - way behind on blogs - so I'm hoping in the next post or two you'll say how it all turned out! And tell your girl Cathy to get the boy liquored up!!! ;)
